Our beloved Hollyhock Leadership Institute sister initiative, delivering leadership and organizational skills to the non-profit sector, has come to the end of its life as an organization. HLI's transition stems from declining funds from charitable foundations as they weather the larger economic changes. Planning is underway to bring forward the best of HLI programming and trainings to our Cortes campus and in Vancouver and elsewhere. Our programming has been coordinated for many years and numerous acclaimed workshops and trainings are continuing this year and beyond. Stay tuned for more news on what's next.
The contributions of ten-year executive director Karen Mahon, her dedicated staff and steering committee, are impressive. Many hundreds of leaders in the environmental and social sectors have benefitted from the extraordinary mix of personal, professional, and organization skills. HLI was a quiet convenor and facilitator for improving the effectiveness of emerging leaders and non-profits. Playing key roles in major issues, HLI bridged working relationships between often disparate sectors, and brought forward important new coalitions and strategies made possible through trust and mutual understanding between new allies.
We’re proud of the work you’ve all done to increase the effectiveness of crucial societal work. The ripples of your contributions will continue growing. Thank you to all who’ve been part of Hollyhock Leadership Institute, and to dedicated organizations working for the public good.
