At precisely noon Friday I was travelling over the Lions Gate Bridge towards Vancouver. I was listening to CKNW who announced that the new replacement ship for the Queen of the North, the Northern Expedition, would be entering the Vancouver Harbor for the first time just after 12:00 PM. I looked to the west and sure enough there was the new ship approaching the bridge.
Once off the Lions Gate I took the first exit into Stanley Park, quickly parked and got down to the lookout directly above and west of the bridge.
What I saw was somewhat spectacular and is presented in the attached pictures. Quite a sight on such a beautiful sunny day.
