We set off for Sayulita at 7 AM and kept at it until we arrived at 1:30 PM. We were hungry and bought fruit cups on the road from women at a speed bump. Hikima, cuke, papaya, watermelon, orange and pineapple. Missed the Sayulita and almost ended up in Puerto Vallarta, turned around then found the badly signed turnoff. Julia, the renter’s friend, was waiting for us and showed us the Casa Tamarindo on Calle Limon.

We are beside the arroyo that leads to the entry bridge into the main downtown. The house is what you would call open plan. Many of the windows are screened and barred, but not glassed. Half of the living space is outside oriented. Upstairs in an open but screened and curtained Palapa that is a bedroom sitting room. There is an outside laundry, shower and toilet. In the main lower part is a kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom. The interior is basic and very colorful but with everything we need. The kitchen is well equipped. A very big portal with tables, chairs sofa, surrounded with bamboo and palms with entrances to a fair sized piece of property.

Saw a chicken dashing out, lots of bird calls, dogs, roosters, horses. The air is moist, the days very warm and the nights cool. We know we are in semi-tropical Mexico but also feel we are on a farm and we are far enough from the bustling down town.

We went into town for supper as we had no fruits and veggies. Met Carrie Saxifrage and had dinner with her. She was slowly wending her way home tomorrow.

Large pictures of the Casa are in the gallery.

I envision the color and the sunshine when I think of you. I close my eyes, smile, and pretend. I so enjoy the vicarious warmth.

Thank you for sharing.

Hi Rickard and Carol

Hope you will have time to stop by La Penita. we had Steve Ringwood here last week.
Your house looks wonderful.
If you get a chance go to San Sebastian de Oeste. It is a small colonial town in the mountains. We went there by ATV on back roads but you can get there on a main highway.
Have fun.
