FOCI will host a community talk and discussion of our local wolf population with invited speakers Bob Hansen and Ben York.
Bob Hansen is a wildlife management specialist with Pacific Rim National Park Reserve of Canada and is coordinator of the Wild Wolf Project. Strong parallels between their experiences with wild wolves in PRNPR and our own recent experiences with wild wolves on Cortes, will be Bob's focus of discussion.
Ben York is the field supervisor for the north Vancouver Island zone of the Conservation Officer Service. Ben will bring his knowledge of wildlife conservation and local jurisdictional logistics.
The presentations will be followed by an interactive session, where Bob and Ben have requested to sit with Islanders who would like to share their personal observations and interactions with our local wolf population.
All Islanders who have an interest in learning more about coastal wolves and how we as Islanders can learn to live together, in harmony with our local population, are encouraged to attend.
January 17th, starting at 1 PM, at Linnaea School, Tiber Bay Room.
