30k North and West of Alamos is a very large man made lake called Presa (Dam) Mocuzari. After a long, slow drive off the main highway, with a lot of dirt, dust, and washboard, we arrived at the impoverished village built immediately below the right side of the dam. First we walked up a road to the top of the dam, then cllimbed a bluff overlooking it all.
The first picture is of that village and a view of part of the long road in.
The second one is of the right side of the dam. There are fishermen parked at the side of the lake to launch their boats with motors. The dam wall seems to be made of just rubble.
The third one pictures the left side of our view point. It has the power generating facility.
The last two show the bluff we climbed to take these pictures.
The Gallery has a telephoto picture of the distant mountains and the many herons on the left power generating side of the lake.
