IN SEARCH OF NIRVANA
A journey of transformation

What would it be like to walk out of your busy life and walk into a Buddhist monastery in asia? What would it be like to drop all your everyday concerns and look only for the truth ,only for yourself? What would it be like to seek peace?
This is the story of such a journey to the east. A young Canadian photographer while traveling around the world finds himself drawn into monasteries in Sri Lanka and Burma . As his curiosity grows and his comfort level falls, he stays longer and longer until he becomes deeply changed by the experience. Decades later he returns to revisit the places and friends from that transformational time. In this film you will share in conversations about peace, suffering, and nirvana (nibbana). You will hear about the path to nirvana which is the practice of the state of mind called ” mindfulness”. Mindfulness was called by the Buddha “liberation here and now” but what is it? The difference between awareness and mindfullness is made clear. You will hear rare conversations with monks and nuns who have given their lives to the practice of self discovery and meditation. With great generosity they share their deep wisdom about both the wonders and pitfalls of the inner life and their perspective about our modern world.
