Believe it or not, yesterday was raining in Berkeley. Thanksgiving day was sunny with cloudy periods. We took the opportunity to visit the 1930’s started Berkeley Rose Garden near by. Pictures below.

We were invited to a sit down 20 guest Thanksgiving dinner at friends of Nancy’s in North Berkeley. What a great ecperience! Friendly professionals who all made us feel very welcome. The conversations often centered around politics and Obama, many of them did enormous fooot work for his campaign. (San Francisco and Berkeley voted 80-20 for Obama) Their mood was positive and hopeful with a toast to the president elect.

Need we tell you the food was great, Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, Sweet Potato cassorole, salads and cheesecakes and pumpkin pies. The event started at 3 PM and we regretfully left at 8 PM.

We thank Nancy for her unbounded hospitality and Jed for his generosity in letting us stay in his house. We are very fortunate to have been in touch with wonderful, sharing, Americans throughout our journey.
