Gathering Place Trading Company has recently sent a pallet of clothes to our South African Safe House, Uthando Lwabantwana. We would like to offer our sincere thanks to Anne Fulton for her tremendous donation of clothing and to Cortes Transport for shipping to Vancouver for free! Thanks also to the lovely ladies at the free store and to Kristen Schofield-Sweet and Melissa Rickey for their donations.

We would like to send more clothes to South Africa! We would like the help of anyone interested. First, we need clean clothes folded into cardboard boxes. The types of clothes should be primarily for women, girl teenagers and children with some young men’s clothing, both winter and summer items. Second, we need a dry place to store the clothes while we accumulate them and organize. If you have a garage or basement we can use, let us know. Third we would like to raise the funds to send the clothes. We have figured it works out to about $40/big box. You can give any amount of money with your clothes donation, or just money or just clothes!

Any additional money raised will be sent directly to benefit the Safe House. We take no money in administration fees and would like to assure you that every cent we are given goes to benefit children and women in need in South Africa. We unfortunately cannot offer tax deductible receipts, but Uthando Lwabantwana is recognized as a registered non profit in South Africa. Please contact Lovena or Ryan at 250 935 6993 to help.
