Richard & Carol
Saturday and Sunday we stayed with friends, George and Jan, 15 miles West of Ashland, Southern Oregon, on their 160 acre farm.
Sunday morning started with fog but burned off by 10 AM. Together we walked to the north then south west and climbed to the tops of the hills to hike along and around their area. The picture below is a view of their pond and two habitations. Below that is the entrance to their abode and after that is the suite we stayed in.
Sunday evening, Jan sung with the 120 people Siskiyou Choir. We attended this concert and heard wonderful english versions of Brahms Folk, Gypsy and Waltz songs. After we went for an Italian restaurant dinner there in the town of Ashland, famous for its Spring Shakespeare Festival.
The landscape around is lightly forested with Oak, Manzanita, Arbutus, Pines, Eucalyptus and some Willows. That is just a few. The environment has Bear,Coyote, Cougar, Fox, Gopher and Squirrel. The two dogs of the family Sequoia and Wonder are large enough to not be troubled by the wildlife. On our walk around the hills we encountered quite a bit of poison oak. Hard to see as the leaves are gone. A really fabulous landscape that made me wish I had time to paint. But we have taken lots of photos.
