THE NEED TO BE SEEN
We are an island of entrepreneurs, artisans, and craftspeople. The concept of a home business is second nature to us. The world wide web holds great promise but what we needed was an easy interface that everyone could learn and use so we could show our “stuff”. In 2006, Barry presented us with his second participatory site called the MARKETPLACE. In 2007, it was folded into the Tideline.
HOW IT WORKS
A Marketplace is where sellers and buyers meet. A marketplace rents tables and booths to the sellers and the marketplace also provides the grounds and advertising to gather the people to view the products. In our humble way, this electronic website provides all those ingredients and more. If you have an major item or many items to sell, the Marketplace gives YOU the easy tools to list and maintain your own table, ie. web page. It's as easy as filling out a form!
POWER TO THE SPONSOR
We direct the people who visit this popular community website, www.cortesisland.com/tideline, to come and view your products. Last year that was 70,000 distinct visitors!
SPONSORSHIP PRIVELEDGES
The small fee for being a sponsor on the Tideline has not changed for 3 years, $50. You may remain a Legacy Sponsor and nothing will change.
If you choose to use the Marketplace feature, only $10 will be added to your yearly bill -making it $60. This now creates a web page and you are able to add a lenthy description of your “business” on the left, augmented with 5 pictures. You will have up to 3 products to describe on the right. Each product will produce its own window when clicked on and it will have 2 photos, a description, price, and contact info. If you have Pay Pal or Credit Card priveledges, this will be pictured too!
For $75 a year you cna displayup to 15 products.
