Zo Miles
On July 3, members from the Cortes community invited representatives from Island Timberlands to a community meeting, with the intention to initiate a conversation over IT's lands on Cortes Island. Specifically, we hoped to find out what their plans are, and to give them an initial community response, including our intentions, concerns, and some possible solutions.

A HUGE thanks to all who attended and spoke, and especially to Kristen Scholfield-Sweet for facilitating.

My notes from the meeting are attached.

If you'd like to become more involved, or if you'd like to be added to an email list for updates, please let me know.

Zoe took the minutes of the meetings so her info provided is first hand. 15% of the island showing up to hear IT's plan speaking what they thought about the plans no one said all of Cortes.
Some of Cortes meets with "IT"

Hey Zoe.... I appaauld your efforts in trying to find a happy medium for those involved. By the way, how are you involved? Your notes from the meeting are very extensive and I am wondering where you came upon the information therein. It would be great if it was first hand news as opposed to second, I eagerly await your reply.

Keeping in mind that not 150 out of the 1000 people on the last electorial do not speak for all of CORTES.
