Allan Todd passed away early this morning. Many islanders knew Allan from when he was working on the ferry. He was a great cook, loved music and he will be remembered by many of the island seniors as someone who could sing the best sing-along songs!
With a song in my heart

I know Allan as a fellow singer, music lover, true friend and gentleman. Singing with Allan in the Barbershop Quartet and the Cortes Singers was truly a highlight of my life. Alan always had something positive to say and I know my daughter Jennifer will remember him as *uncle Al the kiddies pal* . This was how we would greet him on the ferry. Allan was full of life and I am grateful for the great times we shared.

Allan Todd knew his job on the Ferry and he did it well. When my friends Allan Olmsted and Jo Ann Green traveled to the River he always showed them a lot of respect and consideration. He made sure they were parked so that Allan Olmsted could get in and out of the car with his difficult arthritic knees. Allan Todd was a civil servant who showed the kind of professionalism that was much appreciated by the public on the ferry. With respect...to a fine man. -Mark Bayntun
