We are approaching the end of one school year while at the same time looking forward to the next one. Planning has begun for the start of the next year. We will be facing many changes; our entire tenth grade and three of our ninth grade students are leaving us to move into high school. We are anticipating the arrival of a new group of students who bring a different set of experiences with them and who will quickly become part of our school.

At this time we are working together to determine our grade configurations and class composition for the upcoming year. At present we have some indication that new students will be attending our school but we do not have firm numbers at this time. In order for us to plan the best class arrangements and next year’s staffing it is very important that we have as much information as possible regarding our enrollment. To this end I am requesting that if you know you will be moving over the summer that you please inform us. Conversely, if your child does not presently attend the school but is likely to attend next year, and you haven’t already done so, would you please give us a call and let us know.

I will be meeting with Board Office staff to discuss enrollment, staffing, and resources for the school next week. Having a close idea of the numbers of students we will have next year gives me a stronger position from which to present our case for the resources we will need for our school from a system which is facing pressure to reduce expenditures.
