"I love the deep colours of shadow against the brilliance of morning sunlight. In this painting, I worked with watercolour to build the rich broad areas of colour and then worked into it with watercolour pencils to enhance details like the rocks and sea weed in the foreground. This painting was inspired by a visit to the beaches south of Tofino where I like to explore at least once each year."
