Cortes Island and the area north of Lund, which supplies power to the submarine cable that energizes Cortes, were the hardest hit areas during Sunday nights storm. BC Hydro was able to reenergize the submersible cable last night restoring hydro electrical service to about 40% of Cortes Island. Crews continue to repair lines on Cortes and hope to have the main line from Seaford to Whaletown repaired today. Work on the feeder lines will comense once the main line is functioning.
