“Like Mother Like Daughter”, Paintings and Drawings - Opens on Friday November 2nd with a Reception from 6 – 8pm at Drawing Room Art Works, DRAW Gallery.

Barbara has been an active member of the art community on Quadra Island since the day she
arrived from Vancouver in '98. Her formal training includes a Diploma of Fine Arts from Vancouver Community College followed by printmaking studies at Emily Carr College of Art and Design. Since then she has experimented with several mediums including drawing, printmaking, painting and collage. Many of Barbara's pieces combine two or more mediums.

Following her mother's example, Sovay has been drawing and painting since she could first hold a pencil. Her art studies include several courses at the Art Gallery of Winnipeg. Expect lots of big, bold shapes in big, bold colours in this debut exhibit of Sovay's acrylic works.
