A Cortes delegation has requested the opportunity to present the ‘Open Letter to Cortes Islanders’ at the next SRD Board meeting on February 13. The meeting starts at 12:30; the more the merrier. This could be a critical time to support democracy on Cortes.

The Open Letter asked you “to consider the following questions, regardless of whether you voted for Noba Anderson or for George Sirk in our last election:”

1) Defamation of our Regional Director,

2) Irregular Process at SRD Affecting Cortes Issues,

3) Delays and Inconsistencies in Referendum Process,

4) Voter Harassment on Cortes Island.

Please read the complete text of the Open Letter, if you have not done so, yet. This was in every mailbox, but you can also access it at www.daclarke.org/Cortes If you agree with the letter, are a resident or property owner, and have not added your name, it is not too late. You can email us — send it to taz.in.bcgmail.com — or sign the paper copy at the Gorge Harbour Store by Saturday, Feb 9. We want the Open Letter to reflect the depth of the majority will on Cortes for the greatest possible impact with the SRD.
