Thank you to all those who came out to the emergency planning meeting in support of Unist'ot'en last weekend, and to those who were there in spirit. We had a good discussion about how we can best support the folks up at the camp, and have come up with the following for now:

Fundraising / Gathering funds is probably the best way we can be of help right now. Are you having a party this festive season? Why not put out a donation jar! Are you sending out Christmas emails or letters? Why not include a message about Unist'ot'en!

We will be putting out donation jars at the C0-op and at the Gorge Store, and will have a table at as many markets/events as we can find volunteers. The best way to donate is directly through their website here: http://unistoten.camp/support-us/donate/

At yesterday's market and evening Solstice Spiral event we raised $278.20. Thank you to everyone who gave money.

Supplies / We know of a couple of cars that are going up that can take donations of wild canned food (clams, game, fish), insulated tarps, a small wood stove, and a wall tent. If anyone has any of those items to donate, we have one dropbox set up near the ferry in Whaletown (Left onto Sawmill Rd from Carrington Bay Road, first right, please leave any donations in the tote by the airplane wing that says "428") Please call 8598 if you need something picked up or dropped off for you.

Sign the Pledge / Join 4288 organizations and individuals in signing the pledge in support of Unist’ot’en here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdNtxbSahBWHsa9Wy_sEelq8BAEp1mOsiiOzkvq9dE7ryMnGA/viewform

Share Stories / If you are on twitter or facebook, use your platform to spread the word coming directly out of the camp. https://www.facebook.com/unistoten

We will plan another meeting to discuss further strategies in the new year! Please don't hesitate to email or call if you have any ideas you'd like to share.
