Hello Cortes Families,
We would like to welcome you and your preschool aged child (30months to school-aged) to the Cortes Island Playschool! I will be joined by Catriona Vega and together we are offering a sweet play-based program with a focus on art, music, movement, stories and outdoor play.
A bit about us:
Hayley is an kitten herder (aka teacher of small humans), therapist and clown. Passionate about nature, children, and play she combines it all in a unique way. She holds a BA in Environmental Studies and Geography, a certification in Relational Somatic Therapy (with a focus on attachment) and is a student of various models of play therapy. She is well-versed in the child development theories of Gordon Neufeld and is a fan of Hand in Hand Parenting courses.
Catriona Vega has taught a range of ages from preschool through to adults on Cortes and in far flung places such as Mexico and Eritrea. She draws inspiration from her two daughters, the children she works with and her love of all things creative, including music, dance and art. She has completed a PDP teachers certificate from SFU as well certification in teaching English as a second language.
