the press
The press is a custom design Etching Press integrating the best features of the Brand Press, and several Japanese presses. It is one of the largest presses North of Victoria. The press bed is 36 inches wide and 54 inches long and accommodates large sheets of paper 34" X 46".

The studio is fully equipped with inking tables; a wetting area; a clean room for print and paper storage and cutting. It accommodates about 2-3 printmakers at a time. All Inks are water based and no toxic materials are used. Rollers, brushes and other materials are available. Paper and many sizes of plates are also provided. There is a materials charge for inks and paper.
A full time printmaker is on hand to take care of your material needs and to assist you in pulling the prints properly so they may meet your professional standards.

FULLY EQUIPPED PRINT STUDIO: All supplies are provided free. Professional Printer on site to assist in pulling quality prints. Maximum 4 sign-ups per workshop. Nonrefundable deposit to hold place in workshop.
INSTRUCTOR: Mary Dudley, printmaker, art educator and painter -has shown nationally for over 20 years. She is primarily a printmaker who specializes in monotype, collagraph and mixed media prints. The large etching press at Eagle Wind Press allows artists to produce large and small format prints.
EXHIBITION: at the Old Schoolhouse Gallery in Whaletown, Cortes Island BC will be held at the end of the Summer, “Printmaking 2006”. All participants in the workshop are encouraged to submit their best prints produced on the press for this annual show.
ACCOMMODATIONS: Overnight stays may be seeked on the Cortes Island Website. Just click on Accommodations Link. Book early, they fill up fast! There is also campsites at Smelt Bay Provincial Park, -easy walking distance to Eagle Wind Press. You can make reservations through BC Parks.
