Confirmed by the folks at Sightings(at)ocean.org, this lone Minke Whale was passing through our waters on September 28th, just north of Mitlenatch Island, travelling west.
Having nearly invisible and silent blows, surfacing only briefly after long dives (4 to 5 minutes) and not showing the tail fluke make this species easy to miss.

When the sea is calm and these whales are just “being” it is quite inspiring for sure. The photo was taken with a long telephoto lens from a small boat!

Hello! Folks,
I need help putting my garden to bed, it's a task I can't do on my own this year.
Many of you may know that I had heart surgery this summer and am now on the road to recovery. I'm only allowed to lift 10-15 lbs. I would greatly appreciate the help. Maybe the 9th or the 11th, a 10:30 start, those two days look like they have sun in the forecast.
If interested please call @ 935-6756

In this 3-hr workshop, we will explore the voice using traditional yoga asana (postures), therapy ball rolling, breath awareness, visualization, meditation, restorative yoga, sounding, and singing. The aim of the workshop is to empower and inspire you to sing freely and with your own full expression, gaining more awareness of the connection between your breath, voice, and body. We will explore the subtle balance of power and surrender, creating a deeper understanding of your individual voice, leading to an increased somatic awareness. Attention will be paid individually as we have different instruments and therefore require different tools to thrive. This workshop is for all levels of experience and for all those who want to explore their singing voices!

Hello! When I moved here from Vancouver I left much of my "stuff". I am now settled and am seeking some baking items to make Fall and Winter a bit sweeter! Cookie pan, pie pan, muffin pan, cake 8X8 (or similar) and loaf pans. If you have any to spare I would be so grateful. Happy to offer you up something delicious from the oven as trade.
